On July 29, CAMMA Microfinance Limited organized a social activity of planting 200 trees in Tanoun Primary School with the presence of Acting CEO of CAMMA, school principal, teachers, and students, a total of 300 participants.
CAMMA organized a tree-planting activity in Tanoun Primary School located in Boeung Sdok Village, Basedth Commune, Basedth District, Kampong Speu Province, which is the spirit of contributing to environmental protection and climate change mitigation.
Mr. Ly Chheang, Acting CEO of CAMMA Microfinance Limited stated the purpose of this community event that, “This tree planting activity is organized to celebrate CAMMA’s 13th anniversary as well as to educate students to cherish, protect and preserve natural resources.”
Environmental protection requires the participants to contribute with heads, hearts, and hands. And CAMMA is committed to furthering its contribution in social activities, Chheang added.
This community event is an activity in line with the social goals of CAMMA which focuses on the impact on society and environment. Besides the tree planting activity, CAMMA Management Team donated some equipment to the school: lawnmowers, hoes, shovels, hods, watering tanks, and trash cans.
It is noted that it is not the first time that CAMMA organized a tree-planting activity. In 2022, CAMMA organized a community event by planting 1,300 mangrove trees in Kep Province. Along with environment protection by tree planting, CAMMA developed Green Loan and WASH Loan to contribute to environment protection, improve well-being, and improve the living standards of customers.
