Cambodia is evolving into a more prosperous foreign investment destination and towards green development by 2050 in Southeast Asia and with the world. In addition, Cambodia is developing itself to promote the use of electric vehicles, clean energy, charging infrastructure, and battery swap stations to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in Cambodia and export of electric vehicles abroad to reduce carbon emissions and the use of fuel vehicles.
May 24th, 2022 is a great day, ONiON Mobility Co., Ltd. officially inaugurated its ONiON Mobility Factory, a $20 million electric motorcycle and electric three-wheeler assembly plant investment. The inauguration ceremony took place at the ONiON Mobility Assembly Plant with an area of roughly 2 hectares in the Suvannaphum Special Economic Zone, Kien Svay District, Kandal Province, Cambodia, along National Road No. 1 providing hundred job opportunity to Cambodian people with the number of 3000 units for 2022-2023 planned.
The event was also held with 400 people in attendance by H.E Tea Chup Secretary of State of Ministry of Environment, Investors from Korea and Singapore, local and international business partners of ONiON Mobility, Celebrity, local and international journalists and distinguished guests from partners such as:
-CTR, SVInvestment, TADA, Shinhan Bank, PTT Cambodia, TotalEnergies, Smart, Prince Bank, Fairplus Supermarket, Circle K, and simultaneously with the inauguration ceremony,MVL Energy Investment Company (ONiON Mobility Co.Ltd.) also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CTR Company on the “Development Project for Micro Electric Cargo Truck With Reuse Battery Packs” to promote the use of electric vehicles.
Mr. Kay Woo, Founder and CEO of ONiON Mobility said during this MOU and Inauguration ceremony that
“We are preparing the full EV service from bike to three wheelers with onion mega station. Now we are getting into the utility version of the four wheeler. Our mission is clear which is changing Cambodia into EV nation!”
It is also to be noticed that ONiON Mobility Co., Ltd. is a company that has an electric motorcycle and electric three-wheeler assembly plant, which can increase the production of EV and provide more than 500 jobs by 2025 planed and also has officially established its Mega station, 3 other battery swapping hub stations, and 6 more partner hub stations in the current time and expand its Mega Station and Hub Station in Phnom Penh and to potential province and the entire Cambodia.
ONiON Mobility Co., Ltd. is a joint venture with TADA, a ride-hailing booking application with advanced technology in Cambodia. Recently with overwhelming support from local and international riders who are environmental lovers, the number of app orders increased much more day by day after the launch of ONiON T1 function to TADA ride hailing app.
The official launch of the ONiON Mobility Assembly Plant is aimed at a great change for Cambodia towards the future use of the green energy vehicle and further promoting the adoption of electric vehicles in Cambodia as well as the enhancement of the charging infrastructure for the better Cambodia and the World.
